“As part of our commitment to giving back to the community we are proud to support this charity”.
The Pyjama Foundation supports kids in foster care through a learning based mentoring program, delivered by volunteers known as Pyjama Angels. Pyjama Angels spend an hour a week reading books aloud and basically being a positive influence in these kids’ lives. There are nearly 40,000 kids in care throughout Australia and they are within the lowest educational outcome pool. 92% of children in care are below the average literacy level by the time they are 7 years old and 87% do not complete Year 12 or its equivalent. This can lead to long term unemployment, homelessness and involvement in the justice system.
