The Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management (BCCM) has recently launched two valuable new resources designed to improve understanding of community living and the operation of body corporate schemes across Queensland.

According to the Commissioner, a new online training module has been developed to help participants better understand body corporate living and the rights and responsibilities that arise throughout the property lifecycle. The training is available through the BCCM’s existing online training platform and will automatically appear for current participants within the “BCCM Training” pathway.

The training course covers topics such as committees and committee meetings, general meetings, financial management, maintenance and bylaws and aims to assist body corporate members, committees and stakeholders to better understand body corporate legislation.

In addition, the Commissioner has published a new Guide to Living in a Body Corporate, an online resource that offers a clear overview of community living. The guide explains what a body corporate is, how it operates, the rights and obligations of owners and occupiers, and where to seek information or dispute resolution assistance when issues arise.

These resources are particularly valuable for committee members, lot owners, tenants, buyers, sellers, property managers and strata professionals seeking reliable and practical information about community titles schemes.

As the Commissioner noted, these resources provide an opportunity to enhance understanding of community living and help stakeholders confidently navigate common body corporate issues.
